Man killed after vehicle crashes into South Toledo apartment

A Toledo man was killed early Monday when a car he was driving struck an apartment building in South Toledo, injuring another man.

Quincy Holmes, 24, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Toledo police.

Mr. Holmes was driving in the 3900 block of Airport Highway about 4:45 a.m. when for unknown reasons the car went off the road and crashed through a wall of the building, police said.

The impact injured Harold Lewis, who was sitting on a couch in his first-floor apartment, according to police. Mr. Lewis, whose age was not released, was then treated at University of Toledo Medical Center, the former Medical College of Ohio Hospital for injuries that appeared to be minor, police said.

The crash remains under investigation.
