Rep. Latta files petitions for re-election to House

U.S. Rep. Bob Latta (R., Bowling Green) filed paperwork Friday with the Lucas County Board of Elections for re-election in the 5th District.

He is the only person so far to file signature petitions for the May 6 primary election. Monclova Township minister Robert Fry, senior pastor of Heritage Church of God on Strayer Road, has said he plans to seek the Democratic nomination.

The 5th District includes parts of West and South Toledo, western Lucas County, and parts of 13 other counties in northwest Ohio.

Also filing signature petitions for re-election Friday was Lucas County Commissioner Carol Contrada.

A Democrat who lives in Sylvania Township, Ms. Contrada is seeking a second term.
