Mayor Collins voices his support for State Issue 1
5/2/2014Toledo Mayor D. Michael Collins announced Thursday his endorsement of State Issue 1 on the ballot Tuesday.
Issue 1 would allow the State Capital Improvements Program to extend its work for 10 more years, which means allowing $1.875 billion in infrastructure to aid communities like Toledo, the mayor said. The bipartisan-supported program has been in place for 27 years.
Mr. Collins said approval of Issue 1 would create no increase in taxes and that funds to repay the bonds are already built into future state budgets.
