For the fourth time in 27 years, Ohio voters yesterday said “yes” to a state borrowing package to help local government pay for road, bridge, sewer, drinking water, solid waste, and other public works projects.
With a majority of the vote counted today night, Issue 1, the only statewide issue on the ballot, had a resounding support compared to the “no” side.
Bedford Schools superintendent concedes school levy lost
Bedford Public Schools Superintendent Mark Kleinhans said at a levy gathering tonight that the school tax request already has lost at the polls.
Bedford was asking voters to approve a 4.37-mill levy that would have funded an extensive makeover of the district's aged buildings and construction of an elementary school. READ MORE.

State Rep. Sears leads candidate backed by Tea Party organization
State Rep. Barbara Sears (R., Monclova Township) leads primary opponent Scott Allegrini by 228-129 in the first returns from the Lucas County Board of Elections in today’s primary election.
Ms. Sears is seeking a fourth term as state representative in the 47th House District, and Mr. Allegrini, a Walmart manager, is backed by the Tea Party organization Ohio Citizen.
