STONY RIDGE - A husband and wife arrested near here and a Risingsun, Ohio, man made initial appearances in Perrysburg Municipal Court yesterday on drug-related felony charges in connection with the discovery of a methamphetmine laboratory.

Bond was set at $100,000 for Kenneth Filippelli, 50, who was charged with trafficking in drugs; $50,000 each for his wife, Darlene Filippelli, 43, who was charged with drug abuse, and William D. Thomas, 38, of Risingsun, who was charged with trafficking in drugs. They were in the Wood County jail last night pending a hearing Thursday in the Perrysburg court.

The Filipellis were arrested Wednesday at 24812 Rocky Rd. as deputies and agents of the Drug Enforcement Administration served a search warrant. Authorities found an active methamphetamine laboratory, weapons, drug paraphernalia, chemicals, and $6,000. Mr. Thomas was arrested at his home, where authorities found suspected methamphetamines as well as chemicals and apparatus for making the substance.

Deputies said the arrests were part of a long-term investigation. Local and federal agents last month uncovered a large-scale methamphetamine laboratory at a Pemberville Road mobile home.
