The Tigers will open spring training on Feb. 13, which means baseball season is coming. Here is a daily look at players with possible ties to the 2018 Mud Hens, whose home opener is set for April 12 against Pawtucket.

OF Jason Krizan

■ History: The Tigers signed Krizan in December to a minor-league contract with an invitation to spring training. But the 28-year-old is no stranger to the Tigers or Mud Hens: Krizan was drafted by Detroit in 2011 and spent parts of the last three seasons in Toledo. He began last year with Double-A Erie and batted .393 with four homers and 14 RBIs in 14 games to earn a promotion to Toledo; with the Hens he hit .264 with four homers and 37 RBIs in 107 games.

■ Future: The versatile Krizan, who last season played both corner outfield positions as well as first and second base in Toledo, will be a candidate for a reserve role with the Tigers. If that does not pan out, he would be expected to start the year with Toledo.
