Oregon City Council has scheduled a public hearing for June 23 on a requested zoning change on two properties at 5508 Navarre Ave. and 5528 Navarre Ave. The owners, David and Diane Jaeger, are requesting a change from R-1 low density residential to C-2 general commercial on both parcels.

At today’s regular meeting, council will continue a public hearing on the same request for the property at 5464 Navarre owned by Donna Graham. The property, which does not front Navarre, is the southern part of a parcel used by the firm Tesco, which refurbishes and sells buses. The company wants the rezoning so it can use this part of the property to park vehicles awaiting delivery to customers.

This request has attracted opposition from homeowners on South Stadium Road who told council members they did not want to look out from their homes to a view of parked buses. The Oregon Planning Commission has recommended 5-0 that council approve the change.

Council also will consider a new liquor permit for Harbor View Yacht Club, 2180 Autokee St.
