Recently released inspection reports of Lucas County food-service operations.

Violations:

Save-A-Lot, 702 Woodville, inspected Oct. 22. Bagged lettuce at 50 degrees in produce coolers. Cut leafy greens must be held cold at 41 degrees or below to prevent bacteria growth. Rearrange produce so cut leafy greens are held in areas of coolers where 41 degrees or below is maintained. Other non-produce can be switched to areas where 50 degrees is maintained. Raw bacon stored directly above snack trays with crackers, cheese, and pepperoni. These items are considered ready-to-eat. To prevent cross contamination, store raw bacon below ready-to-eat items. Inspector: Kelly Cipiti.

Toledo Main Street Bar & Grill, 135-141 Main, Toledo, inspected Oct. 22. Food handlers not properly setting up sanitizer bucket. To ensure food-contact surfaces are properly sanitized, set up a sanitizer bucket before handling any food. Maintain a supply of sanitizer during hours of operation. Provide a properly installed food-prep sink that is designated for food use only. This sink must be provided to properly wash produce. It can also be used to thaw, cool, and prepare other food items. This sink must be installed in a food-prep area with a two-inch air gap. The small upstairs bar sink is not acceptable for this. Repeat violation, address immediately. Raw ground bison patties stored directly over ready-to-eat deli meat. To prevent cross contamination, store raw meats below ready-to-eat items. Inspector: Cipiti.

Popeye’s Chicken and Biscuits, 3214 Secor, inspected Oct. 23. A bottle of Comet cleaner stored on ice machine in the back. Chemicals and cleaning supplies must be stored separate from or below food and food-contact items to prevent contamination. Inspector: Kelly Sattler.

Yeehas Buckin Bar & Grill, 3150 Navarre, Oregon, inspected Sept. 20. Ground beef stored above cole slaw in bottom of prep-top cooler. Raw meats should be stored below ready-to-eat food to prevent cross contamination. Butter stored on floor of walk-in cooler. Food must be stored six inches off the ground to prevent possible contamination. Small single-use cups used as scoops in multiple foods. Scoops must have handles and be stored so that handles do not contact food, to prevent possible cross contamination. Cole slaw with expired date mark. Food must be used or discarded within seven days of opening, to prevent bacteria growth. Shrimp thawing in prep sink at 59 degrees. Once food is thawed (either under cold running water or in the cooler) it must be cooked or cold-held below 41 degrees to prevent bacteria growth. Food without date marks or with date marks longer than seven days. Food must be marked with a seven-day discard date within 24 hours of opening, to prevent bacteria growth. Chemical (chlorine) dish machine was not feeding adequate chemical during the rinse cycle. Dish machine must properly sanitize dishes at 50 to 100 ppm chlorine during the rinse cycle. Service dish machine and use three-bay sink for dish sanitizing until it is repaired. Inspector: Nathan Fries.

Tony Packo Cafe, 1902 Front, inspected Sept. 19. Tartar sauce and ham holding cold above 41 degrees in small prep-top cooler. Food must be held below 41 degrees to prevent bacteria growth. Adjust or repair cooler so it can hold food under 41 degrees. Inspector: Fries.

Dos Hermanos, 1705 S. Wheeling, Oregon, inspected Sept. 24. Food stored on floor of walk-in cooler. Food must be stored six inches off the ground to prevent cross contamination. Corrected. Raw chicken stored above raw ground beef in walk-in cooler. Practice proper storage order to prevent cross contamination. Raw chicken should be stored below other food. Corrected. Hot dogs without a date mark. Food must have a seven-day discard date to prevent bacteria growth. Corrected. Hand sink by ice machine not working. Hand sinks must be operational to facilitate proper hand washing. Inspector: Fries.

Rumpus Room, 2212 Consaul, inspected Sept. 24. Eggs on floor. Food must be stored six inches off the ground to prevent possible contamination. Inspector: Fries.

Big Lots, 3365 Navarre, Oregon, inspected Oct. 7. Baby food with expired date mark. Must be removed from sale upon expiration. Food removed from sale. Inspector: Fries.
