Andersons files official notice of store layoffs
2/11/2017The Andersons Inc. has filed its official notice with the state of Ohio that say it will begin laying off 920 workers in early April at its four general stores and a retail office.
The Monclova Township agribusiness said it would end 265 jobs at its general store at 4701 Talmadge Rd. in Toledo, 363 jobs at its Brice and Sawmill general stores in Columbus, and 326 jobs at its general store at 530 Illinois Ave. and its retail office building at 1283 Conant St., both in Maumee. Layoffs will be completed by June 9, the company said.
The Andersons announced on Jan. 15 that its retail business lost $20 million in the past eight years and it would shutter the stores no later than early June.
