Former southwest Ohio high school teacher sentenced to probation in sex with minor case
9/23/2013DAYTON — A former Ohio high school teacher who was caught having sex with one of her students has been sentenced to probation.
A Montgomery County judge today ordered the 28-year-old Kelsey L. Hartmann to register as a sex offender twice per year for the next 25 years.
The Dayton Daily News reports Hartmann pleaded guilty to one count of felony unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, in exchange for having another charge dropped. Her indictment had charged her with three felony counts of sexual battery of a minor by a teacher.
The newspaper reports that prosecutor Jon Marshall said the reduced charge was due to the teenager’s family request.
Hartmann will surrender her Ohio teaching certificate.
Her attorney, James Ambrose, declined to comment on behalf of his client.
