CLEVELAND — Crews have begun erecting the frame for a new pedestrian walkway that will allow gamblers to park and head to Cleveland’s casino without walking on city streets.

Hoisting the frame into place is the first step to building the glass-enclosed walkway, which will span 175 feet over downtown Cleveland streets.

The walkway will be just under 17 feet high, connecting the second floor of the casino to its parking garage.

The frame should be in place by the end of the weekend.

Additional work over the next few months will include placing dozens of 15-foot-tall glass panels on the sides of the walkway.

The walkway is set to open early next year. The casino, Ohio’s first, opened last May.
