BEREA, Ohio — The Ohio Turnpike plans $110 million in maintenance and improvement projects this year, including completion of the planned expansion to three lanes in each direction for 160 miles.

The turnpike detailed the projects Monday.

They include a 5-mile project costing $21.5 million to add a third lane in each direction near Toledo.

That will mean three lanes in each direction between Toledo and Youngstown. The third-lane expansion project began in 1996.

Other projects for 2014 include resurfacing and bridge repairs along the 241-mile toll road across northern Ohio.
