CINCINNATI — Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine has been released from a Cincinnati hospital where he spent the night after feeling ill while at a speaking engagement.

A spokeswoman says DeWine is feeling much better Saturday after what was described as a bout of vertigo Friday afternoon.

The 67-year-old attorney general and longtime Ohio public figure was at a “First Friday” luncheon of business and public policy leaders when he felt ill before his scheduled talk. An ambulance took him from a downtown restaurant near Fountain Square to The Christ Hospital for evaluation.

Spokeswoman Lisa Hackley says DeWine is on his way home to Cedarville and is expected to resume a normal schedule next week.
