Frank Lloyd Wright designed home in northeastern Ohio goes on the market for $1.7M
5/25/2014WILLOUGHBY HILLS, Ohio — A house designed by famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright is going on the market in northeastern Ohio.
The Louis Penfield House in Willoughby Hills is being sold along with 18 acres and two other houses on the property for $1.7 million.
The 1955 house was commissioned by Penfield, a high school art teacher.
His son Paul says it’s time for someone else to have the opportunity of owning a Wright home.
He tells The News-Herald in Willoughby that he no longer lives in the home and that it’s mostly occupied by visitors.
It rents for $275 a night during the week and at $300 on the weekends.
The house has lofted ceilings and tall, windows that allow an expansive view of the outdoors.
