Police: Teen fatally shoots 13-year-old Ohio boy
7/1/2014CINCINNATI — A 13-year-old boy accused of fatally shooting another 13-year-old boy at a home in southwestern Ohio is being held in a juvenile jail.
A Hamilton County Juvenile Court official says a magistrate on Tuesday refused to release the boy to his family’s custody due to the seriousness of the charges that include reckless homicide and theft of a firearm. The boy’s attorney didn’t immediately return a call for comment Tuesday.
The Associated Press isn’t naming the boy because of his age.
Green Township police say the boy who died was shot Monday at his home. Police say the gun was stolen from a different home and brought to the victim’s house by the other teenager.
Family friends told local media that it appeared the boys were playing with the weapon.
