Jeff Daniels will bring his one-man acoustic show of bluesy folk songs, personal stories, and comedy to Monroe County Community College on Jan. 29.

MONROE — Emmy-winning TV and movie star Jeff Daniels will bring his one-man acoustic show of bluesy folk songs, personal stories, and comedy to Monroe County Community College on Jan. 29.

Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. show in the college’s La-Z-Boy Center, Meyer Theater are $45. They go on sale this morning at 10, online only via the La-Z-Boy Center Web site, www.monroeccc.edu/​theater.

Daniels is a native of Chelsea, Mich., where he founded the Purple Rose Theater Company.

He recently won an Emmy for best actor in a drama for his starring role as Will McAvoy in HBO’s The Newsroom. He has also been nominated for a Screen Actors Guild award for the role. The 20th annual SAG Awards will be held on Jan. 18.
