John Quiñones, the Emmy Award-winning journalist and co-anchor of the ABC newsmagazine Primetime, is scheduled to speak Wednesday night at Bowling Green State University.

The event begins at 7 in the Lenhart Grand Ballroom of the Bowen-Thompson Student Union and is free and open to the public. Quiñones will discuss “What Would You Do? A 20/20 Vision of America,” based on his Primetime series.

After his presentation, he will answer questions from the audience and sign copies of his book, Heroes Among Us: Ordinary People, Extraordinary Choices.

During episodes of Primetime: What Would You Do? actors stage scenes of conflict or illegal activity in public settings with hidden cameras capturing it all.

The focus is on whether bystanders intervene, and how. Quiñones appears at the end to interview the bystanders about their reactions.

Later in the segment, psychology professors, teachers, or club members watch and discuss the video with Quiñones, explaining and making inferences from the bystanders' reactions.
