Blissfield nutrition firm buys California supplier

BLISSFIELD, Mich. — Uckele Health & Nutrition, a Blissfield, Mich., maker of health and nutritional products for people and animals, said Wednesday that it has completed its acquisition of Zephyr’s Garden, a leader in the animal health industry.

Financial details were not made public.

Zephyr’s Garden, in Santa Barbara, Calif., makes herbal all natural products for horses and dogs to treat maladies such as skin fungus, scratches, and wounds. Their products includes salves, sprays, liniments, calmatives, hoof-care products, and shampoos.

The move is part of Uckele’s strategy to offer a wider range of products to help customers achieve optimal health for their pets and to generate new customer awareness.
