FREMONT — A Fremont company has plans to move, but only across the street.

Standard Technologies LLC, expects to break ground in mid-September for a facility across Hayes Avenue from its current headquarters.

Max Valentine, the chief executive officer of the company, said the building is expected to open by mid-2015.

The facility will have 75,000 square feet, more than double the size of the current 33,000-square-foot building.

Standard Technologies makes battery trays for battery manufacturers, battery trays for use in mines, fuel systems for recreational vehicles, heavy-duty trucks, agricultural vehicles, and hydraulic reservoirs.

The Ohio Tax Credit Authority this week approved a 30-percent, five-year tax credit for Standard Technologies.

The company has said it expects to create 39 jobs by the end of 2018. Mr. Valentine declined to say how many employees the company has.

Mr. Valentine said the company has also received property tax abatements from the local school districts.

The company traces its roots to a company established in Fremont in 1916.
