FINAL

COLUMBIA, Mo. — Terrance Owens threw three interceptions to continue his slump, and the University of Toledo fell 38-23 to Missouri.

Owens, who has four picks on the season, made his miscues at bad times Saturday. One occurred in the end zone and other was returned 70 yards by Missouri for a touchdown. The third interception, which came with 9 minutes, 19 seconds left in the game, hurt Toledo's chances of trimming into a 15-point deficit.

The Rockets, who fall to 0-2, didn't lose their second game last year until Nov. 6.

THIRD QUARTER

The University of Toledo scored its first two touchdowns of the season in the third quarter but trails Missouri 31-23.

One series after he was intercepted for a touchdown, Terrance Owens ran in from four yards for UT's first score. The next drive ended with Owens finding Alonzo Russell streaking down the sideline on third-and-1 for a 41-yard TD.

The quarter started with Markus Golden intercepting Owens and running 70 yards to the end zone. Owens double-clutched with Golden in chase and sort of dropped the ball into Golden's hands.

Missouri scored again on the final play of the quarter, with Henry Josey scoring his second rushing touchdown from one yard away.

HALFTIME

COLUMBIA, Mo. — The University of Toledo's high-powered offense still doesn't have a touchdown this season.

Terrance Owens was intercepted in the end zone to end the first half, and the Rockets trail Missouri 17-9. Owens faced pressure and forced a pass to Alex Zmolik after the Rockets advanced to the 3-yard line.

All of UT's points have come from the leg of kicker Jeremiah Detmer. Detmer, who has made from 24, 46, and 41 yards needs one more field goal to match the most consecutive makes in program history. Alex Steigerwald (2007-08) made 23 in a row.

Missouri is outgaining the Rockets 207 to 188 in total yards.

FIRST QUARTER

The University of Toledo trails Missouri 10-3 after the first quarter.

Missouri's Levi Copelin outran the Toledo secondary and hauled in a 51-yard pass that led to the only touchdown of the quarter. Several plays later Henry Josey ran from 1 yard out.

Toledo receivers Bernard Reedy and Dwight Macon dropped passes on third down to end drives. The Rockets are 0 for 3 on third down.

Jeremiah Detmer's 24-yard field goal, his 20th straight make, represents UT's points.
