    Toledo hammered Western Michigan, 47-20, to satisfy a homecoming crowd at the Glass Bowl.

    The Rockets, who evened their overall record at 3-3 entering a bye week, used four David Fluellen touchdown runs to secure their largest margin of victory since 2011. The Rockets are 2-1 in the Mid-American Conference.

    Fluellen had TD runs of 7, 6, 66, and 2 yards. He finished with 220 yards, marking the fourth time in his career and the second time against Western Michigan he eclipsed 200.

    Toledo, which led by 40 entering the fourth quarter, forced four turnovers.

    The Rockets are off until an Oct. 19 home game against Navy.

    THIRD QUARTER

    Toledo caused turnovers on three straight drives after halftime and turned them into 10 points.

    The Rockets now lead 47-7, with David Fluellen accounting for four rushing touchdowns. Fluellen has 220 yards, marking the fourth time in his career he's reached 200.

    Toledo's turnovers in the quarter were a seven yard fumble return for a touchdown by Trent Voss, a Ross Madison fumble recovery, and Chaz Whittaker's second interception. Voss' touchdown was started by a Jayrone Elliott sack.

    Back up quarterback Logan Woodside entered for one series leading to a three-and-out.

     

    HALFTIME

    Toledo leads winless Western Michigan at halftime, 23-7.

    David Fluellen, who reached 100 running yards for the fifth straight game, has touchdown runs of six and seven yards. Fluellen has 115 yards on 14 carries.

    Terrance Owens and Bernard Reedy hooked up for a 40-yard touchdown on Toledo's first play of the game for the Rockets' other touchdown.

    Western Michigan got on the board with 1:01 left in the half when Tyler Van Tubbergen found Eric Boyden open at the back of the end zone from 16 yards away. The Broncos on the drive crossed midfield for the first time on the day.

     

    FIRST QUARTER

    Toledo leads Western Michigan, 13-0, after the first quarter.

    Terrance Owens found Bernard Reedy for a 40-yard touchdown strike on the Rockets' first offensive play. A short field was created by Chaz Whittaker's first career interception.

    David Fluellen, who has 77 rushing yards, gave the Rockets their second touchdown on a seven-yard run. Dwight Macon threw an interception on the conversion try.

    Winless Western Michigan has yet to cross midfield on four offensive series.
