Toledo tops Eastern Michigan 55-16

FINAL

Toledo beat Eastern Michigan 55-16 behind touchdowns from six different players.

The Rockets, who clinched bowl eligibility, rolled up 729 yards on offense --- third most in school history.

Kareem Hunt ran for 168 yards and two scores, and Terrance Owens threw for 375 yards and three scores.

EMU quarterback Brogan Roback completed 11 of 22 passes for 209 yards and two TDs.

 

HALFTIME

Toledo leads Eastern Michigan 38-10 at halftime.

Kareem Hunt became the fifth Rocket to score a touchdown when he bounced off several defenders along his way to a 39-yard run. That made the score 35-3.

EMU quarterback Brogan Roback fired a dart to Dustin Creel from 16 yards away for EMU's only TD, cutting the deficit to 35-10.

The Rockets tacked on three points at the end of the half on Jeremiah Detmer's 20-yard field goal.

 

FIRST QUARTER

Toledo leads Eastern Michigan 21-0 after one quarter at the Glass Bowl.

The Rockets, who have scored touchdowns on all three of their complete drives, reached EMU's 8-yard line when the quarter ended.

Terrance Owens has tossed two TD passes, finding Alex Zmolik in the end zone from seven yards away and firing to a wide open Dwight Macon at EMU's 30 to begin a 47-yard catch-and-run.

UT's other TD came on a 30-yard cutback run by Damion Jones-Moore.

EMU quarterback Brogan Roback, a St. John's Jesuit graduate, entered the game to begin his team's fourth series and was intercepted on the second play by his high school teammate, Cheatham Norrils.
