UT women top Detroit 79-70
12/6/2013Inma Zanoguera scored 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to help the Toledo women's basketball team to a 79-70 win over Detroit in the Toledo Invite tournament tonight at Savage Arena.
The Rockets overcame early shooting struggles to take a 41-29 lead at halftime, and maintained at least a 10-point lead through the second half, and stretched it to 18 before Detroit cut the lead to 67-62 with six minutes left.
Senee Shearer led Detroit with 24 points.
The Rockets (4-3) will face Valparaiso, which defeated Chicago State 74-50, at 4:30 Saturday at Savage Arena, following Detroit-Chicago State at 2 p.m.
