Weatherspoon, Capotosto named MAC male, female scholar-athletes of the week
12/19/2013ROCKETS HONORED: Toledo basketball players J.D. Weatherspoon and Ana Capotosto were named the Mid-American Conference male and female scholar-athletes of the week.
An individualized studies major with a 3.371 grade-point average, Weatherspoon scored a career-high 16 points and grabbed a team-high seven rebounds in a 77-61 victory over Sam Houston State.
An early childhood education major with a 3.78 GPA, Capotosto finished with a team-tying high 16 points and five rebounds in a win at St. Bonaventure.
