UT basketball gains forward from Mississippi State

Former Mississippi State small forward Andre Applewhite is transferring to the University of Toledo, The Blade has learned.

A formal announcement could come today.

Applewhite, a redshirt freshman, averaged 5.5 points and 3.9 boards in 17.8 minutes this season with six starts. A former three-star recruit from Memphis, Applewhite lost last season to a ACL injury.

He is expected to be eligible to play next January.
