University of Toledo’s Andola Dortch was named a finalist for the 2014 Nancy Lieberman Award.

Named after Hall-of-Famer Nancy Lieberman, the award recognizes the top point guard in NCAA Division I women’s basketball. The original watch list of candidates was narrowed down to 22 by a nationally based committee.

Dortch, the only representative from the Mid-American Conference, is the catalyst in the Rockets’ offense, averaging 12.3 points, 3.9 rebounds, and team highs with 5.5 assists and 0.4 blocks.

WATSON LEAVING: UT assistant football coach Stan Watson is leaving for a job with the Cleveland Browns.

Watson, who was recently promoted to linebackers coach, will be assistant special teams coordinator under new coach Mike Pettine. Watson, who is the fifth Toledo assistant to leave this offseason, was coach Matt Campbell’s special teams coordinator the past two seasons.
