University of Toledo basketball assistant coach Jordan Mincy is leaving for a similar position at Louisiana Tech, The Blade has learned.

Mincy coached Toledo's point guards last season, his first on coach Tod Kowalczyk's staff. He is credited for landing recruits Kamau Stokes and Stuckey Mosely, as well as transfer Dre Applewhite.

With Mincy's departure, Kowalczyk's staff will have two new assistants for the second year in a row. Kowalczyk earlier this offseason hired former South Florida assistant Mike Wells to replace Jason Kemp, who left for Ohio.

Also leaving the staff is director of basketball operations Michael Bennett. Bennett spent two years at Toledo.
