Walleye get 2 forwards from Rockford
12/20/2013The Toledo Walleye received two forwards from their American Hockey League affiliate in Rockford today.
Forwards Pat Mullane and Maxim Shalunov have been reassigned to Toledo by the IceHogs.
Both are expected to be in the lineup when the Walleye play at Kalamazoo tonight and Saturday.
Mullane has appeared in 24 games this season with the IceHogs, posting five assists and six penalty minutes. The native of Wallingford, Conn. played his college career at Boston College University where he was team captain last year.
The 23-year-old forward helped lead the Eagles to two NCAA national championships in 2010 and 2012. In 163 total games at Boston College, Mullane collected 42 goals and 97 assists, including a career-high 16 goals last year.
Shalunov, a 2011 fourth round draft choice of the Chicago Blackhawks, has appeared in 18 games with Rockford this year and has four assists. The 20-year-old native of Russia posted 30 goals and 30 assists in 2011-12 with Medvedi Chelyabinsk of the Kontinental Hockey League.
The Walleye (7-12-3) lost 7-3 in Evansville on Wednesday. They play three road games before returning home Saturday, Dec. 28 to face Cincinnati.
