Reading gets a pair of 2-goal periods in 5-2 home win over Walleye

READING, Penn. — A pair of two-goal pe­riods pushed the de­fend­ing ECHL cham­pi­ons Read­ing to a 5-2 win at home against the Wall­eye on Fri­day.

The Roy­als’ T.J. Syner lit up Toledo with two goals and two as­sists.

Aaron Clarke had a goal and as­sisted on Daniel Koger’s power-play goal in the loss. Mac Car­ruth made 28 saves.

The team re­leased de­fen­se­man Phil Ore­sk­ovic be­fore the game.

Wall­eye coach Nick Vitucci said Ore­sk­ovic is re­turn­ing to his home­town in North York, Ont. He will play for the Bramp­ton Beast of the Cen­tral Hockey League. Bramp­ton is about 30 min­utes west of North York.
