Walleye defenseman called up to AHL

Walleye defenseman Russ Sinkewich, who scored the team's only goal on Friday, was called up to the American Hockey League today.

Sinkewich was recalled to the Texas Stars. The defenseman scored his first goal with the Walleye in a 4-1 loss to Wheeling on Friday.

Sinkewich, who played at Bowling Green State University, has one goal and 10 assists this year with Toledo. The native of Westlake, Ohio has a goal and two assists with Texas this season.

Sinkewich will be in the lineup with the Stars, who will face Toledo's AHL affiliate Grand Rapids tonight. He will square off against three other players that have suited up for Toledo this season: Trevor Parkes, Travis Novak, and Alden Hirschfeld.

The Walleye host Reading at 7:15 tonight.
