A Waterville woman, Sarah Chaney, will be among the first contestants to appear on a new emoji-based game show on GSN. EMOGENIUS pits two pairs of contestants against each other, asking them to to test their emoji-interpreting skills for a chance at $10,000.

EMOGENIUS debuts Wednesday on GSN with back-to-back episodes beginning at 9 p.m. Ms. Chaney’s episode airs Wednesday at 9:30 p.m. The network is on Channels 98/689 on Buckeye Broadband.

The comedic game show first asks teams to decode a series of emoji-based and pop culture-themed messages. Then one team member sends the other a message through a string of emojis, which the other team member must work out. Finally, the team that advances to a bonus round trades off sending and guessing rapid-fire messages for a chance to win $10,000.

EMOGENIUS is hosted by Hunter March, 26, of AwesomenessTV. March will be the youngest host of a nonchildren’s game show in TV history, according to GSN.
