BCSN, WTVG team up for expanded coverage

BCSN and BCSN 2 are teaming with WTVG (Channel 13) to form a unique team to provide maximum local, regional, and national sports coverage for northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan.

The partnership begins this fall with the commencement of the high school football season.

“The opportunity to be able to create the largest local sports team in the market was one we couldn’t pass up,” WTVG president and general manager John Christianson said. “We’re extremely excited to be able to provide hyper local sports content to share with our viewers. For 10 years, BCSN has built a tremendous local sports brand, and now teaming up with 13abc Action sports, we’re looking forward to even more increased local coverage.”

BCSN of Buckeye CableSystem will air Overtime, a high school football highlights and scoreboard show, beginning Friday at 10:30 p.m. Channel 13 begins its Friday night football show Friday at 11:15.

BCSN and BCSN 2 air coverage of local sporting events 24 hours a day.

“The BCSN team is delighted to work with the professionals at WTVG,” said Veronica Pinciotti, general manager for local stations for Buckeye CableSystem. “Teaming up with the top-rated news station in the market will extend the reach of our local sporting coverage.”

BCSN is expected to move its production home for a weekly Friday night one-hour sports show to WTVG during the high school basketball season.

BCSN and BCSN 2 are owned by Block Communications Inc. and are available exclusively on Buckeye CableSystem. Channel 13 is an ABC affiliate owned by the SJL Broadcasting Company.
