COLUMBUS — The Ohio Attorney General’s Office has sued the owners of an optical store in Toledo, alleging multiple violations of Ohio consumer law.

According to the attorney general’s office, 78 complaints have been filed against the three Stanton Optical locations in Ohio. In addition to Toledo store, two are in suburban Dayton.

The suit, filed in Lucas County Common Pleas Court, accused Stanton Optical of shoddy work, failure to deliver, and misuse of the word “free” in advertising. The suit seeks restitution for consumers and civil penalties.

Two Florida companies own the Stanton Optical locations.
