  • The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has cited Fry’s Roofing and Construction for two willful safety violations, with proposed penalties of $52,250.

The Toledo company has 15 business days to comply, request a conference with OSHA’s area director, or contest the findings.

OSHA says Fry’s workers were observed in July working on a residential roof without proper fall protection.

The citations contend Fry failed to ensure that workers had fall protection while engaged in roofing activities, and that they were wearing eye protection when using pneumatic nail guns. Since 2008, Fry’s has been issued one repeat, two willful, and two serious citations for these same violations.

A willful violation is one committed with intentional, knowing, or voluntary disregard for, or plain indifference to, employee safety and health.
