Local chamber selects Speyer for Athena honor

Sharon Speyer, president of Huntington Bank’s Northwest Ohio region, has been named recipient of the Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Athena Award.

The award is given each year to an area woman who shows excellence, creativity, and initiative in her business or profession, provides service to improve the quality of life for others in her community, and assists women in reaching their full leadership potential.

Ms. Speyer has been Huntington’s regional president since its 2007 merger with Sky Bank, for whom she had been general counsel. Locally, she serves on numerous boards and committees, including Imagination Station, the Regional Growth Partnership, and the Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority.
