ROMULUS, Mich. — Operations are back to normal at Detroit Metropolitan Airport after a more than two-hour lockdown prompted by a passenger who entered a secure area without a security check.

Airport spokesman Mike Conway says today that most passengers delayed Thursday night at McNamara Terminal have since left on flights from the airport in Romulus.

Officials said the man exited a secured side of a screening checkpoint into a public area and went back into a secured area without resubmitting to security. The U.S. Transportation Security Administration said the man was apprehended by airport police.

Conway and the TSA said early today they didn’t have updated information on the man.

The TSA said the passenger arrived at the airport from Little Rock, Arkansas, and may have missed a connection to Los Angeles.
