Ohio gas prices back up to start work week

COLUMBUS — Ohioans are paying about a nickel more per gallon for gas compared with a week ago.

The cost for a gallon of regular gas in Ohio was averaging $3.87 in today‘‍s survey from auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and WEX Inc.

Today’‍s Ohio price is about 16 cents higher than a month ago, and it’s about 8 cents higher than last year at this time.

The national average today was $3.66 per gallon. That’s a penny more than a week ago, and 2 cents higher than a month ago.

Analysts say unrest in Iraq has driven up the price in crude oil.
