Marathon announces dividend of 50 cents

FINDLAY — Marathon Petroleum Corp. announced a quarterly dividend of 50 cents a share, payable Sept. 10 to shareholders of record as of Aug. 20.

The company’s board of directors also approved an additional $2 billion share repurchase authorization through July, 2016. The previous authorization had $709 million remaining as of June 30. Marathon Petroleum will release its second-quarter results today.
