COLUMBUS — Ohio gas prices are a few cents higher to start the work week.

The average price for a gallon of regular gas was $3.50 in today‘‍s survey from auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and WEX Inc. That’s 3 cents higher than a week ago, but a penny less than this time last month.

Today’‍s national average was $3.48, which is 2 cents lower than a week ago, and 15 cents lower a month ago.

Analysts say prices should stay lower during August as long as refinery production remains strong and oil prices don’t rise due to unexpected issues.

The lowest average price in the state today was $3.43 in the Youngstown area.
