Winter gas payment plan encourages parity
8/12/2014Columbia Gas of Ohio Inc. says that those planning to enroll in its annual winter heating Budget Payment Plan should begin doing so now, either through their August bill, online, or by phone.
The budget plan spreads natural gas costs evenly over 12 months. The amount for customers using an average amount of gas is set at $80 per month for the 2014-15 heating season.
However, each customer’s budget billing amount is different and may be higher or lower than the average. The amount is based on the historical gas usage patterns for each home.
Columbia Gas said that waiting beyond August to enroll in the program will raise a customer’s payment amount because there will be one less month for the budget to spread the cost of winter heating.
