DELPHOS, Ohio — A new $10 million pasteurization plant that uses high-pressure processing technology for food preservation is to begin production in April.

HydroFresh HPP, an affiliate of Keller Logistics, is equipping an existing 36,000-square-foot building at 1571 Gressel Dr. in Delphos, Ohio, for the pasteurization plant, the company said. It will have 12 employees, but it could have up to 55 if demand for its products increases.

The company said the cold-pasteurization technique to be used in the plant can double the shelf life of products while eliminating bacteria such as salmonella, E. coli, and listeria.

Products to be processed in the plant include refrigerated dips, natural lunch meats, cold press juices, deli salads, and other natural products.
