    UNDER CONSTRUCTION

    Walls are going up at a new single-story, 23-bed inpatient psychiatric care hospital at 4040 King Rd. just north of Sylvania Avenue in Sylvania Township. The facility, to be owned by Assurance Health of Indiana, will be the first of its kind in the township and is designed for patients 65 and older who will have an average stay of 14 days and will arrive from assisted living or long-term care facilities. Lewandowski Engineers of Toledo is working with Assurance Health on the $5 million facility, which will be Assurance Health’s second in Ohio.

    ACHIEVEMENTS

    ■ La-Z-Boy Inc., a Monroe-based furniture manufacturer and retailer, has appointed Melinda Whittington as senior vice president and chief financial officer, effective June 21. She replaces Louis “Mike” Riccio, who is retiring.

    ■ Traditions Sauces, which makes Brickyard Sloppy Joe Sauce, has received the CIFT Excellence Award, recognizing the food company’s achievements by the Toledo-based Center for Innovative Food Technology.

    ■ AccuShred LLC, a Toledo data destruction company, was given the Better Business Bureau’s 2018 Torch Award for Ethics.
