Kentucky Chrome at Music at the Market
Kentucky Chrome Band
Category: Music
Time: 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM
Venue: Commodore Schoolyard lawn
Location: Perrysburg
Address: 140 E. Indiana Ave
Perrysburg, OH

Description: After a sudden outburst of rain ruined Kentucky Chrome's June concert the band volunteered to come back and perform Thursday, September 3, at 7pm.

Concert goers are encouraged to bring a blanket or chairs to the Commodore Schoolyard Lawn, 140 E. Indiana Ave. and enjoy the last concert of the season with the energetic music of Kentucky Chrome.

Kentucky Chrome, is defined by their lively old school honky tonk, rock-a-billy music. The band has successfully carved a mainstay niche in the Northwest Ohio music scene with their concentration on music from the late 50's and early 60's . Original member and leader Lance Halsey has been front and center for nine years. His slight appearance never fails to cause jaws to drop when he belts out a tune with a natural and amazing baritone vocal range. The band has released four CD's. Three of them are available only at their performances.

Band members are Lance Hulsey, rhythm guitar, lap steel; Heath Matzkows, lead guitar; Rich Dishman, drums; and Lucky Lamont on upright bass.

This series is sponsored by the Perrysburg Convention and Visitors Bureau, The City of Perrysburg, Ed Schmidt Automotive Group and the Perrysburg Board of Education.

The evening will also include live entertainment and special performances:
• Back by popular demand after a great performance in August, Wilson Lake and the Rock Bass will entertain throughout the night from 6-9pm. The group’s music focuses on a landscape of woods and water, where kids and adults hike, fish, swim, and explore a world of wonder outside the walls of their houses, TV's, and video games.
• At 6:45pm, music will break for a Back to School Fashion Show on the red carpet at Louisiana and Second hosted by Kids Klothesline.
• In addition to a meet and great from Laurel’s Princess Parties’ characters during the event, at 7:45 they will take the stage to perform. Join the Winter Friends (Kristov, Anna and the Snow Queen) singing your favorite songs from Frozen.
• To close the evening at 8:45, the fire spinners from Pyrolectric will light up the night with choreographed routines.

“We expect to close this year’s First Friday season with an evening jam packed with fun and unique activities that you just can’t find anywhere else,” said Sabrina Weaver, DPI President and First Friday Event Chair. “Thank you to Mercy for their financial support, without which an event like this would not be possible.”
The traditional activities you know and love will be available such as YMCA games, train ride, Chortie the clown, a Perrysburg fire truck and inflatables. In an effort to broaden the appeal of First Friday to a wider age range, DPI will also provide a Eurobungy ride free of charge. The Eurobungy allows participants to launch themselves up to 20 feet in the air held in safely by an acrobatic harness.
Vendors will line Louisiana Avenue and The Burg t-shirts will be on sale at the DPI booth for $10. Food will be available for purchase from Chick fil-A, Captain Daddy Dogs, and Jacky’s Depot, as well as the many fabulous eating establishments in downtown Perrysburg.
DPI is a community based 501(c)3 non-profit organization with a mission to provide family events that showcase the community and contribute to the quality of life that makes Perrysburg the “Best Suburban Downtown”. DPI’s success is credited largely to its members, sponsors, and volunteers who lend their names and financial support to the organization and the many activities that they proudly present.
