Crash at farm market in Temperance hurts 2

TEMPERANCE - Two men were hurt seriously yesterday when a car that was southbound in the 6900 block of Lewis Avenue collided with a car pulling from a driveway.

Monroe County sheriff's deputies said a car driven by Donald Shinaberry, 44, of Temperance was exiting the driveway at Zeiler's Farm Market about 6:55 p.m. when it was struck by a car driven by Nathan Mahrt, 19, of Toledo. Mr. Mahrt was driving south on Lewis.

Mr. Shinaberry, who had been wearing a seat belt, was taken by helicopter to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, where he was listed in serious condition.

Mr. Mahrt, who had not been wearing a seat belt, was taken by helicopter to Medical College of Ohio Hospitals, where he was listed in critical condition.
