A 39-year-old Oregon woman was killed and a Genoa man was hospitalized after a two-vehicle accident late Saturday.

Oregon police said Patricia Bleim of 3525 Navarre Ave. was pronounced dead at the scene. Ms. Bleim was a passenger in a 2001 Ford Ranger driven by Christopher Simpkins, 43, of Genoa when the accident occurred at 6:58 p.m. in the 4600 block of Navarre.

Authorities said Milita Maier, 16, of Genoa lost control of her 1991 Ford Escort and struck the right rear corner of Mr. Simpkins vehicle.

Both vehicles were traveling west on Navarre. Police said Mr. Simpkins Ford Ranger spun and began to roll and Ms. Bleim was ejected.

Mr. Simpkins was transported to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. A hospital spokesman said the center did not have a patient by that name. Ms. Maier was treated in St. Charles Mercy Hospital and was released.
