Leipsic woman will return to face bank-robbery charge

6/5/2001

OTTAWA, Ohio - A woman who's accused of robbing a bank in Leipsic last week is expected to be returned to Ottawa today to face charges, authorities said.

Cheryl Warren, 20, of Leipsic, waived extradition yesterday in Paoli, Ind., where she was arrested Saturday after authorities spotted her car.

Putnam County Sheriff James Beutler yesterday said he expected to send deputies to Indiana today to pick up Miss Warren. She will be arraigned later in Putnam County Court, Ottawa.

The bank on East Main Street was held up about 2 p.m. Friday by a woman wearing a ski mask, a white sweatshirt, and gloves. The woman threatened a teller with what looked like a pistol.
