Crash victim s survivors suing Grand Aire, others
2/9/2007The wife and children of a Grand Aire Express pilot killed a year ago in a plane crash in rural northwestern Tennessee filed a wrongful-death lawsuit yesterday in Lucas County Common Pleas Court.
The complaint alleges that Grand Aire Express, which is headquartered at Toledo Express Airport; TriCoastal Air Inc., which is owned by Grand Aire; Fairchild Aircraft Inc., an aircraft manufacturer, and unnamed defendants were negligent in the Feb. 8, 2006, crash that killed Abdulgader Zbedah, a 45-year-old pilot.
Mr. Zbedah s widow, Amina Benahmed, and their children, Aya, Alimusa, and Jannat Zbedah, all of Louisville, are seeking unspecified compensatory damages.
Mr. Zbedah was on a TriCoastal Air cargo flight from Dayton to Harlingen, Texas, when the Fairchild Swearingen crashed into a heavily wooded area near Paris, Tenn., about 85 miles west of Nashville.
