ERIE, Pa. - Two northwest Ohio people were injured yesterday when a van carrying members of the Miami University Glee Club crashed in Erie.

Peter Blank, 21, of Sylvania and Taylor Love, 19, of Findlay were among the eight people in the van, all of whom suffered injuries.

None of the injuries appear to be life-threatening, Miami spokesman Claire Wagner said. Hamot Medical Center spokesman Lucia Conti said one person was in serious condition and three were in fair condition. The four others were treated at the hospital but not admitted.

The police report listed two people as suffering major injuries. They were student-driver Sean Barry, 21, of Bloomington, Minn., and Patrick Muccio, 20, of Columbus.

Other passengers were Timothy Spears, 22, of Lewis Center, Ohio; Adam Saxe, 18, of Beaver Center, Ohio; Philip Stichtenoth, 22, of Cincinnati, and Andrew Crist, 23, of Zanesville, Ohio.

Pennsylvania State Police said Mr. Barry, the driver, fell asleep at the wheel yesterday morning, causing the crash.

According to the police report, the crash occurred at about

10:40 a.m. on I-90. The van drifted into the median, struck several road signs, and rolled onto its roof.

State police cited Mr. Barry for driving the vehicle at an unsafe speed.

The students were part of a five-show tour by Miami's Glee Club, traveling in five vans and a bus. They were traveling to Buffalo from Cleveland, where they performed Monday night.

Most of the remaining members of the 90-member Glee Club continued on to Buffalo, where they were scheduled to perform last night.

Other performances on the tour are scheduled in Boston and New York.
