Man, 33, indicted after car hits marshal

A Toledo man who allegedly tried to flee from federal marshals, resulting in his passenger being shot in the neck, was indicted Friday by a Lucas County grand jury.

Terry Moll, 33, of 18 City Park Ave., Apt. 45, was indicted on one count of felonious assault, two counts of failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer, and one count of aggravated possession of drugs. He remained in the Lucas County jail in lieu of $300,000 bond.

Moll was at East Broadway and Starr Avenue about 6 p.m. Feb. 4 when he was ordered out of his car at gunpoint by U.S. deputy marshals, authorities said. He allegedly fled and struck one of the deputy marshals with the car

The marshal fired through the driver's side window, striking passenger Sara Vandeneynde in the neck. She was treated at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center.

Deputy Marshal Rodney Hartzell was knocked to the ground by the car and hurt his knee. Toledo police arrested Moll, who was wanted on a felony burglary warrant from 2006 and a misdemeanor warrant for failing to pay child support, the U.S. Marshal's Office in Cleveland said.
