Roads near the BP refinery in Oregon are closed because of a "release" from the plant, Oregon police dispatchers said today.

Dispatchers did not know what was released; Mary Caprella, a spokesman for the refinery, was not immediately available for comment.

Police said Cedar Point Road is closed at Otter Creek Road. Police crews are also stationed at Bay Shore Road and Alabama Street.

Additional information was not available.
